24/7 Fire Alarm Monitoring
Northeast Fire Systems provides UL-listed central-station monitoring for commercial fire alarm systems. We connect your fire alarm, sprinkler waterflow, and supervisory signals to a monitoring station staffed 24 hours a day, so every alarm is received and the fire department is notified promptly.

How Our Monitoring Works
The building and fire codes require most commercial fire alarm systems to report to a supervising station, and NFPA 72 sets how that connection is designed and tested. NEFS handles it start to finish, from the communicator on your panel to the central station that answers the signal, and keeps it tested so it works when it matters.

- NFPA 72 testing and documentation
UL-Listed Central Station Monitoring
Your fire alarm signals are received by a UL-listed central station staffed around the clock. When an alarm comes in, the station notifies the fire department right away, then calls the people on your contact list. Every signal is time-stamped and logged, which gives you a record for insurers and the fire marshal.
Alarm, Supervisory & Trouble Signals
A monitored system reports more than fire alarms. Supervisory signals flag a change in something that protects the building, like a closed sprinkler valve or low air pressure on a dry system. Trouble signals point to a fault in the system itself, such as a wiring problem or a failing battery. Each one gets the right response instead of being treated as a single generic alarm.
Cellular & IP Communicators
The copper phone lines older systems used for monitoring are being retired by the carriers, and many panels still depend on them. We replace them with cellular and internet communicators, and we can run both together so a signal still gets out if one path drops. This also meets the current NFPA 72 rules for how quickly a system has to report a communication failure.
Account Setup & AHJ Notification
Getting a system monitored takes more than plugging in a communicator. We open the central station account, program the panel to report the right signals, and handle the notifications your local fire department or authority having jurisdiction requires. When we finish, the system is on record and ready for its acceptance test.
Testing & Ongoing Service
NFPA 72 requires monitored systems to be tested on a set schedule, including a check that signals actually reach the central station. We do that testing, keep the documentation, and respond when a communicator or account needs attention. If you are switching from another provider, we can usually take over monitoring on your existing equipment.
Frequently Asked Questions about Fire Alarm Monitoring
In most commercial buildings, yes. Local codes and NFPA 72 require most fire alarm systems to report to a supervising station so the fire department is notified automatically. We can tell you what applies to your building.
It will be. Carriers are retiring the copper lines these systems depend on, and codes now favor cellular and internet reporting. Upgrading the communicator is usually a straightforward fix that does not mean replacing the whole panel.
In most cases, yes. We can take over monitoring on existing equipment after we inspect it and confirm it reports correctly.
