Commercial Access Control

Northeast Fire Systems designs and installs commercial access control systems that manage entry to doors, elevators, and secured areas. We handle the credentials, door hardware, wiring, software, and the fire alarm integration that code requires, for single sites and multi-building campuses.

What Complete Access Control Requires

Who, where, when.

Good access control is more than a card reader on a door. It has to fail safely in a fire, give people free exit, keep a reliable record, and stay manageable as staff change. NEFS handles the design, the door hardware, the wiring, and the software so the whole system holds together.

Access Control Design

We start with your doors: which ones need to be secured, who should get through them, and when. From there we choose readers, credentials, and locking hardware that fit the door and the traffic it sees. A busy main entrance and a back server room call for different approaches, and the design accounts for that.

Credentials & Readers

Credentials run from proximity cards and fobs to smartphone credentials that let staff use a phone instead of a badge. Mobile credentials are easy to issue and revoke remotely, which matters when someone loses a card or leaves the company. We match the reader to the credential and to the security level each door needs.

Door Hardware & Wiring

The lock does the actual work, so it has to be right. We install electric strikes, magnetic locks, and the request-to-exit devices and door position switches that go with them, wired cleanly back to the controller. Poor hardware or wiring is a common point of failure, so we install and terminate everything properly.

Fire Alarm Integration

Any door held by a magnetic lock has to release automatically when the fire alarm activates. That tie-in is a code requirement, not a feature, and it is how people get out in an emergency. We integrate access control with your fire alarm so locked doors free up the instant an alarm sounds.

Management & Reporting

Once the system is running you control it from software, on site or remotely. Add or remove a person, set schedules so a door unlocks during business hours, and pull a report of who went where. If something happens, the audit trail gives you a clear record.

Frequently Asked Questions about Access Control

Yes. Mobile credentials work over Bluetooth or NFC, and you can issue or revoke them remotely without printing a card.

Doors on magnetic locks release automatically when the fire alarm activates. We wire that integration in because code requires free egress in an emergency.

Yes. Access control scales from a single door to multiple buildings run from the same software.
